The PTE exam fee in India for 2026 is ₹18,900, including 18% GST, for PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI and PTE Core. It went up from ₹18,000 on 16 March 2026 and is the same at every test centre. The fee includes 18% GST and is the same in every city. Pearson sets prices for each country and can change them, so check the amount at checkout. A retake costs the full fee again.

What the PTE fee includes

• The whole test in one sitting of about two hours: Speaking and Writing, Reading, and Listening.
• Your score report in your myPTE account, usually within 48 hours.
• Sending your scores to universities and immigration authorities through myPTE.

How to book the PTE exam: step by step

1. Choose the right test. PTE Academic for study abroad, Australia and New Zealand; PTE Core for Canada PR; PTE Academic UKVI for UK visas that need it.
2. Create a myPTE account with your name exactly as it appears on your passport.
3. Pick a test centre, date and time. Popular weekend slots fill first, so book early if you need a specific date.
4. Pay the fee online and keep the payment confirmation.
5. Read your confirmation email for the centre address and reporting time.
6. Bring your original passport on test day. It must match the details on your booking.

PTE fee vs IELTS fee

In 2026, PTE costs ₹18,900 and IELTS Academic or General Training costs ₹19,000 in India, so the fees are almost the same. The bigger cost difference comes from retakes: the cheaper test is the one you pass in one attempt. PTE results usually arrive within 48 hours, which helps if you are close to a deadline.

Which PTE test should you book?

• Canada PR (Express Entry): PTE Core. IRCC does not accept PTE Academic for Express Entry.
• Australian visas: PTE Academic, with Home Affairs’ minimum scores for each skill.
