PTE Result: When It Comes and How Long Your Score Lasts
Pearson says most PTE results arrive within 48 hours of the test, though some take up to five days. You get an email when your score report is ready in your myPTE account, and from there you send it to universities or immigration authorities. A PTE score is valid for two years from the test date, although some organisations set their own limits.

When do PTE results come?
Most test takers get their results within two business days. Some take up to five, for example when responses need an extra check. Since August 2025, the two newest speaking tasks are scored by AI and then reviewed by a human expert, as part of normal scoring.
How to check your PTE result
- Wait for the email from Pearson saying your results are ready.
- Log in to your myPTE account with the details you used to book.
- Open your score report to see your overall score and your four skill scores.
- Download a copy for your records.
What your score report shows
Your overall score and your scores for Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing, each from 10 to 90. If you have taken PTE more than once, institutions only see the report you send them; they cannot see your other attempts.
How to send your PTE scores
Choose the university or authority in your myPTE account and send your score report. It takes about 48 hours for the institution to see it. You can only send scores while they are valid, so do it within two years of your test.
How long is a PTE score valid?
Pearson treats PTE scores as valid for two years from the test date. The organisation you apply to has the final say:
- Canada PR: PTE Core results must be less than two years old when you create your Express Entry profile and when you apply.
- Australian visas: Home Affairs sets its own rules on how recent your test must be, so check the page for your visa.
- Universities: most follow the two-year rule, but check each one.
PTE Core results for Canada PR
PTE Core results arrive the same way, in your myPTE account. For Express Entry, you enter your PTE Core test details and scores in your profile, and IRCC converts each skill to a CLB level. Keep a copy of your score report: you will need it for your PR application if you are invited, and the result must still be less than two years old when you apply.
What if your score is short of your target?
You can book another PTE test; it costs the full fee again, ₹18,900 in India in 2026. Before you rebook, look at your four skill scores, find the one below target, and practise the tasks that feed it. If you think something went wrong with your test, Pearson’s rescore and technical review policy explains what you can request.
Plan around your deadline
Results usually take two days, but allow up to five, plus about 48 hours for an institution to see your scores. If your application deadline is close, leave room for one retake as well.
