How does the online French course work?
You start with a free class and a level check, then join a batch that fits your schedule.
- Book a free French class. A trainer runs a live class and checks your level.
- Get a realistic plan. You learn which test suits your deadline and roughly how long NCLC 7 should take you.
- Join a batch. Choose a morning, evening or weekend batch. Most learners study about 4–5 hours a week.
- Move to test practice. Once your French is strong enough, classes focus on your chosen test.
How long will it take me to reach NCLC 7?
From zero, in our experience most working adults need around 9–14 months at 4–5 hours a week, including test preparation. If you already have some French, it is shorter.

Should I prepare for TEF Canada or TCF Canada?
Both are accepted for Express Entry, so choose based on test dates near you, your deadline and which format you prefer. We recommend one in your free class. For the detail, see our side-by-side TEF and TCF comparison.
DELF is a French diploma that does not expire, and it is useful for study and work. It is not the test for Express Entry, though, so most PR candidates prepare for TEF Canada or TCF Canada.
Why learn French for Canada PR?
According to IRCC, NCLC 7 or higher in all four skills can add up to 50 additional CRS points (50 if your English is CLB 5 or higher, 25 if it is CLB 4 or lower). IRCC also holds French-language rounds for candidates with strong French.
